International Students Cultural Exchange, based in
Taipei,
Taiwan, with its regional office in
Foster
City, California,
was founded by Ken and Carol Soo in 1984.
Since our inception, our objective has been to promote international
friendship and goodwill through the various programs we offer to students in
the United States,
Taiwan,
and China. It is our sincere hope that through the numerous
programs that we offer, new friendships and alliances will be forged, cultural
gaps will be bridged, and we will move beyond a world of tolerance to a world
of appreciation and understanding.
Our English Study Tour Program and English Summer Camp
Program enable Taiwanese and Chinese junior high, senior high and college
students to study English during the summer and winter vacations in various
countries including the United States, England, Canada, Australia, China and
Taiwan. ISCE’s longstanding experience
and solid reputation have allowed us to maintain strong and productive
relationships with Taiwanese and Chinese junior and senior high schools. As such, each year we have approximately
1,000 students attend our study abroad programs. Many students have also participated in our
Work & Travel Program, Internship Program, and High School and College Academic
Year Programs. More than 120 American
college students have attended our Teach & Travel Program in China
and Taiwan
in the last four summers.
International Students Cultural Exchange employs a full-time
staff of 25 people, all of whom are experienced and knowledgeable about the
intricacies of international student exchange.
The support network that our staff provides for students attending one
of our programs is unparalleled in that students are able to reach an ISCE
staff member 24 hours a day. In order to
make the travel arrangements for our students as seamless as possible, ISCE also
operates a travel agency, K.C. Holiday Tours, in both the United
States and Taiwan. The 15,000 students that have attended one of ISCE’s programs in the last twenty years are testaments to our expertise and
professionalism in the field of international cultural exchange.
