Taipei, Taiwan
Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is the largest financial, cultural, and political
center in Taiwan. It houses a blend of traditional culture and cosmopolitan
life, and there’s always something going on – festivals, night markets and
concerts. It is one of the busiest cities in the region and has a traffic
situation of Manhattan proportions. This is the perfect place for those who love
the big city life.
Taichung, Taiwan
Taichung, located in central Taiwan, is the island's third-largest city. It is
less industrial than Taipei and is known more as an educational and cultural
center. The area surrounding Taichung ranges from ocean shores to rugged
mountain peaks. Its commercial district, abundant cultural activities, and the
warmth of its residents make Taichung an attractive city.
Beijing, China
Beijing, China’s capital, is located in the northeastern corner of China. Its
city limits extend approximately 50 miles, including the urban and the suburban
areas. Major tourist sites include the Forbidden City, Lama Palace, Summer
Palace, Temple of Heaven Park, the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square. Beijing is
undeniably a bustling metropolis abundant with night markets, festivals, good
(and cheap) food, and some of the world’s most amazing sites.
Guangzhou, China
Located in the southern part of China, Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong
province. It is China's largest and most prosperous city in the South, and is an
important seaport for foreign trade and a famous historical and cultural city
over 2,000 years old. Called the “City of Flowers” because flowers are in bloom
year-round, Guangzhou houses famous sites such as Yuexiu Park, Guangxiao Temple,
the Octagonal Flower pagoda in the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, the Dagoba at
Huaishen Temple, and the Mount BaiYun Scenic Area.
Chengdu, China
Centrally located in the western Sichuan Plain, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan
Province, is renowned for its fertile land and agricultural wealth which have
earned the city the nickname "Storehouse of Heaven.” Chengdu is a beautiful city
full of vigor and vitality. Besides the local teahouses, snack bars and bazaars
(also known as flea/night markets) there are still many popular places for tourists to
frequent.
Tianjing, China
Tianjing is one of the four municipal cities under the jurisdiction of the
Chinese central government and is the largest industrial and port in north
China. Tianjing has a variety of places to interest tourists. In the city itself
is the the beautiful Haihe River area, Tianjing Broadcasting and Television
Tower, the famous Ancient Cultural Street, Food Street, the Memorial Hall of
Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao, the Memorial Hall of the Beijing-Tianjing Campaign,
Tianjing Science and Technology Museum and the Museums of Nature, History, Art,
Opera and Folk Customs.
