Teach and Travel Program >> Summer Program TEACH ENGLISH IN CHINA AND TAIWAN! Teach & Travel’s 2005 Summer Program gives native English speakers the unique opportunity to teach English in a summer camp environment to local students in Taiwan and China. Participants will teach and interact with enthusiastic, local English-learning students for up to seven hours a day, with time off for personal travel. Depending on participants’ preferences and school demands, teaching schedules may be divided into morning, afternoon or evening sessions. Costs in addition to the program fee are minimal since meals, travel, and accommodations are provided. As this is a volunteer position, participants will not be paid a monetary salary. Program Highlights: • Round-trip airfare from San Francisco International Airport to teaching destination • FREE three- to four-day BONUS TRIPS to Hong Kong and Beijing upon completion of program • Housing provided by the local teaching site • Meals provided three times a day, five days a week; or a meal stipend will be provided • Mandatory one- to two-day training session and orientation where all teaching materials will be provided • Medical insurance • An in-country ISCE representative • Possible college or internship credit Program Dates: Teach & Travel’s 2005 Summer Program will begin on June 28/29, 2005 and conclude on August 23, 2005. Application Requirements: • Applicants must be current university students or college graduates • Applicants must be at least 18 years old • Applicants must be native speakers of English ISCE is seeking highly-motivated individuals who sincerely enjoy interacting with and teaching students of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Applicants should possess a strong sense of responsibility, a passion for excellence, and be extremely personable, flexible and creative. When selecting candidates to interview, ISCE will look for how all these qualities are reflected in the applicants’ academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and vocational and personal experiences. Application Deadline: The final application deadline is May 6, 2005. ISCE is currently accepting applications, and as space is limited, applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Application and Program Fees: Application fee: $35.00 (for accepted applicants, the application fee is deducted from the program cost Program fee: $1,300.00 for applications received before May 6, 2005 Teach & Travel with a friend and receive a $100 discount on your program cost and a $50 discount on your friend's program cost! Final payment for the program is due within two weeks of your acceptance (upon signing ISCE’s Teaching Agreement). Payment should be in the form of check or money order payable to International Students Cultural Exchange.
